Care for the Family
Bringing the Prodigals Home.
This autumn saw the final tour of Care for the Family’s Bringing Home the Prodigals event, which is presented by best-selling author, Rob Parsons. Since the first event was held in Glasgow in 2003, over 50,000 prodigals have been prayed for across the country – and this last tour took place in seven towns and cities across Britain.
The Roadshow
Now in its third year, the Care tour had pulled together a dedicated band of regular crew members headed up by Jem Maynard-Watts. Andy Bartlett ran lighting and rigging, Seb Knowles and Dan Keating ran the sound, and on ocassion further crewing by Mike Simpson.
We have to take our hats off to Dan Keating for managing to hold the transportation together with Seb, when on ocassion issues with hired trucks threatened not only his own licence but the events themselves.
The sound rig for Prodigals used Electro-Voice Sx500s along with Shermann CB218 subs on Crown Macrotech amplifiers. The FOH Board was an Allen & Heath ML3000 and wireless mics by Sennheiser. On the lighting side, this was a generic 6kW rig accompanied by 6 Martin Mac 500s running on an Avolites Pearl board.
CSS also supplied drapes, rigging, radios and video screen.
