'The best ever image we have had..'
After meetings with CSS, The NFI production team decided to go with the changes proposed by Pete McCrea and Cutting Edge, which gave 'the best image we have ever had'. This was achieved by upgrading the signal path from Cutting Edge's OB Truck to the screens, and utilising high quality projectors for the side screens which had been lower resolution video walls in previous years. Combining the upgraded projectors, with the high level Extron Distribution Equipment, meant that the signal path maintained the highest possible integrity through out. The two side screens were 6500 Lumen Sanyo XF35 projectors, with a central double stack of two 10,000 lumen Sanyo XF45 projectors. Feeds were also sent to the Creche via a CAT5 sender system, and various other parts of the building, all utilising Extron Components.
CSS also provided a flown front truss system to provide the front light to the stage area, and cable bridge to get the cabling back to the 'Dimmer World' discreetly behind the set. Undertaken in the usual safe and competent manner, CSS provided the crew, equipment and full documentation that is required to make sure rigging operations go smoothly and safely.
